Some new experiments

Here are some new monsters I have recently completed. My latest experiment was with kitties. I have never tried to make a kitty monster, but I think my first attempt turned out quite well indeed. BEHOLD! Your nightmares realized! The conjoined Siamese cat monster lives!!!

Also, I have made this crazy looking red bear monster. I just love working with punchy color and pattern combinations like this. 

Teddy Bear Monsters All Dressed Up

There has always been something fascinating for me about ruffs. A ruff, for those not familiar with the term, was a very popular style of collar worn in western Europe, most notably during the Elizabethan period. I really enjoy them, and I love to dress up my monsters with my own rendition of the ruff. Here I have used some very pretty laces and ribbons for the purpose.

Two Terrible Teddy-pus Monsters

I'm hard at work on these monsters  lately after taking a break from them in fall and early winter. But I couldn't stay away, these little critters are just too fun to make. But what to call them? For a while I called them Teddy (or Bunny) Tentacle Monsters, but thats kind of a mouth- full. Are they Teddy- Pus monsters, Teddy- Pi? Are they Octo- Bears? Nautilus

This is a new little watercolor painting I did, inspired by and named after the enigmatic Nautilus.

The Nautilus is a little sea creature, a cephalopod actually. They are said to be living fossils, as they have remained virtually the same for millions of years. Their beautiful shells have been greatly sought after and they have been thought to have magical qualities. Personally I find these creatures fascinating and for this piece I have combined them with the human form (also quite an interesting creature).
